A frothy or overly lively pour is usually linked to temperature or pouring technique.
Here’s what to check:
-
Check the temperature. If the beer is not fully chilled, it can create excess foam.
- On standard PerfectDraft machines, this is 3°C.
- On PerfectDraft Pro, the temperature may vary depending on the beer style. You can check the recommended setting in the PerfectDraft app or on the PerfectDraft website.
- Allow the keg to reach its full serving temperature before pouring.
-
Review your pouring technique.
- Use a clean, dry glass.
- Tilt the glass to 45 degrees.
- Pull the handle down fully in one smooth motion.
- Keep the glass steady and gradually straighten it as it fills.
- Small adjustments to the glass angle can significantly reduce foam.
-
Check the tube.
- If the issue continues, inspect the tube connecting the keg to the tap. If it appears damaged or loose, replace it with a new tube and ensure it is securely fitted.
