Alcohol-free and low-alcohol beer contain less alcohol than regular beer, but they are not the same.
Alcohol-free beer
- Usually contains up to 0.5% alcohol (ABV – alcohol by volume).
- This level is widely used in Europe to define alcohol-free beer.
Low-alcohol beer
- Contains around 1.2% alcohol or less.
- Has a lower alcohol content than regular beer.
- The exact alcohol content is always clearly stated on the label.
