The volume indicator is an estimate rather than an exact measurement, and it works out how much beer is left based on how much has been poured. A few everyday things can throw it off.
Open the tap handle fully
This is the most common cause. The indicator only counts a pour properly when the tap handle is opened all the way, so a series of half-opened pours will leave the reading higher than the beer actually in the keg. Opening the handle fully in one movement also gives you a better pour.
If the machine has been unplugged
After a power cut or being unplugged, the display won't be accurate straight away. Pour a few glasses and it should settle back down.
Unplugging also resets the 30-day freshness counter automatically, so it starts counting from zero again. If that's happened, work from when you actually connected the keg rather than what the display shows.
What to try
- Open the tap handle fully each time you pour.
- Pour a few glasses and see whether the reading updates.
- If the machine lost power, give it a few pours to settle.
