A few minutes of regular cleaning keeps your machine working well and every pour tasting as it should.
Before you start, unplug the machine at the wall.
⚠️ Never remove the black internal panel. It isn't designed to come off, and there's nothing behind it that needs cleaning. Taking it off can damage your machine and may affect your warranty.
The tap unit
Beer residue builds up inside the tap unit, and it's the part that most affects how your beer tastes. Give it a clean every time you change your keg.
- Detach the tap unit.
- Remove the medallions and set them aside.
- Rinse it under warm water, with a little washing-up liquid if it needs it.
- Rinse well and dry it thoroughly before putting it back.
The tap unit isn't dishwasher safe, so please don't put it in. The spout can go in the dishwasher if it needs a deeper clean.
The drip tray
The drip tray catches excess beer and foam, so empty it regularly and give it a proper wash at least once a day if you're using the machine.
- Slide it out of the machine.
- Wash it in warm, soapy water, using a soft brush for any stubborn residue.
- Dry it fully before sliding it back.
Both parts of the drip tray are dishwasher safe.
Inside the machine
Beer residue and moisture left inside can turn mouldy, so it's worth a quick wipe now and then.
- Wipe the inside with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent, then dry it.
- Pay particular attention to the door seal. It's what keeps the cold in, so keep it clean and free from stickiness, and check now and then that it isn't damaged.
- If you spot a white deposit in the bottom, that's harmless minerals left behind by condensation. Wipe it away with a disposable cloth.
- If you're not using the machine for a while, clean it first and leave the door slightly open so everything stays dry.
The outside
Dust and marks come off with a soft, damp cloth. Dry it afterwards, and avoid getting water into the vents.
The air vents and the back of the machine
Dust builds up on the vents and around the cooling unit at the back, and that's what stops the machine cooling properly. Every month or so, gently clear the dust away with a soft brush or the nozzle of your vacuum. Make sure the machine is unplugged first.
What to keep away from your machine
Some cleaning products will damage it, so it's best to stick to warm water and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive pads and scourers, harsh or strongly alcoholic cleaners, anything acidic or caustic including descalers, and steam cleaners or defrosting sprays.
