An E7 code means there's a problem with the pressure sensor. It's usually caused by the keg itself, or by how the tap unit is connected, rather than by a fault in the machine.
First, check the connection
- Make sure the tap unit is pushed fully down onto the keg. You should hear two clicks.
- Check the beer line is attached correctly. You should hear a click when it goes into the keg.
- Check the seal on top of the keg for damage or debris, and wipe it clean.
- Check the seal on the tap unit, and lightly wet it before attaching it to the keg.
- If you can, try another keg to see whether the code clears.
If E7 continues, try a full reset
- Open the door and take out the keg.
- Disconnect the keg from the tap unit.
- Unplug the machine, wait a minute, then plug it back in.
- Reconnect the keg to the tap unit, fitting a new beer line, and place it back inside.
- Close the door and check the latch has locked.
You'll know within a few minutes whether the code has cleared. If it has, leave the keg in the powered-on machine for 12 to 16 hours to cool fully before you pour.
Still showing E7?
If the code is still there after a reset, and you've had it with more than one keg, it's likely the pressure sensor itself, which isn't something that can be fixed at home. Get in touch and we'll sort it out. It helps to know:
- how old your machine is
- whether the code appeared with more than one keg
- whether the code cleared at any point during the checks
