Rapid Cooling is a cooling mode on the PerfectDraft Pro that chills your beer up to 30% faster than Standard Cooling. It's designed for a newly installed keg when you'd rather not wait.
How to turn it on
Open the PerfectDraft app and tap Rapid Cooling on the home screen.
Rapid Cooling can only be turned on in the app, not on the machine itself, so your Pro needs to be paired with the app.
It switches off by itself once your beer reaches 4°C, and Standard Cooling takes over from there. If you've set a lower target temperature, Standard Cooling will carry on cooling to it.
What's normal while it's running
- The fan will sound louder. It's working harder to cool your beer faster.
- The temperature shown may jump up briefly just after you switch it on, while the machine adjusts.
- The temperature may look stuck. Your beer is still cooling, the display just takes a moment to catch up.
- It uses a little more energy. About the same as a low-power light bulb, around 17W more than Standard Cooling.
If Rapid Cooling isn't available
You won't be able to turn it on if:
- your machine is still working out the beer temperature
- your beer is already at 4°C or below
The app will tell you why it isn't available.
